LU LU for Lemon: Lululemon

Lululemon, yoga inspired athletic wear, has become my daily uniform. Whether doing my daily errands or working out, it is quite often you'll see me in my lululemon gear. Yes, I have traded my juicy jumpsuits for lululemon and this fabulous yoga line has also influenced many people from both Los Angeles and New York to make the same change. The transition was easy and the obvious choice, for lululemon offers comfortable, cozy, form fitting, flattering and of course fashionable activewear. Need I say more, I'm officially a "LuluHead". I certainly own enough pieces to stock half a store. Between Rachel and I, we can definitely fill an entire shop with merchandise and make a nice chunk of change.

 Lululemon Remix Hoodie (front) $89

Lululemon's Power Tank $52

Lululemon's first store was opened in Vancouver BC in 1998 and today they have over 100 stores across the United States, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong. The fabrics used to make their clothing line are top quality, moisture wicking (fabric dries quicker and you stay cooler during workouts and warmer afterwards) and comfortable. The fabric is also pre-shrunk, long lasting  (worth the cost), lightweight and anti-stink. They use their signature luon fabric for most of their collection, which leaves the consumers addicted and coming back to buy more.

The Nature in Outdoor Workouts

Hiking In Los Angeles, CA

Summer is around the corner, so I ditch my 4" louboutins and lip gloss for lululemon gear and my comfy asics tennies. It's time to succumb to less that perfect hair and start making my clothes work as hard as I do. Why not take a hike or a brisk walk and embrace nature while you burn some calories. I love outdoor workouts because it challenges my body to inclines, declines and obstacles, while leaving behind the monotony of any indoor workout machine. And besides, I hate when I am sandwiched between 2 occupied machines as I get a collective whiff of body odor and sweat dripping on my machine. GROSS!!! Studies have shown that outdoor activities increases your mood and boosts your self-esteem. I'm in!! Hiking is much more appealing than any indoor workout because it mentally and physically stimulates me as I shed calories. Whether hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles, or taking a brisk walk in Central Park in New York City, outdoor workouts will beat boredom, boost confidence, and endurance and burn fat!!

The Golden Touch of Time by Michael Kors

Like, Love or Loathe?

It was love at first sight. The oversized "Runway" watch by Michael Kors has the "boyfriend" appeal with style and class. It's the perfect accessory to any wardrobe adding that "gold" accent touch to casual or formal attire. It has similar design cues of the Gold Rolex: chunky construction, bracelet band and chronograph dial, but it comes with a much affordable price tag of $250.00.

Banksy: The Anonymous Artist Who Has Revolutionized the Art of Graffiti

Banksy

"cops and donuts"  My favorite

"Rat Dining Out"-South Park, London

Wall Paper Graffiti-Camden

"Pulp Fiction"-Shoreditch, Camden

"Michael Jackson"

"West Bank Wall in Bethlehem"

Banksy, pseudonym for British Graffiti artist, is one of the most famous graffiti artist who has not revealed himself as of date. He has mastered the art of not being caught by the officials to avoid prosecution and continues to express himself in open areas all over cities to maintain his presence and his passion for graffiti art. He has expressed that he may let down a few teenagers if his true self is ever identified. "Every other type of art compared to graffiti is a step down", revealed Banksy. He has a global reputation as a graffiti artist whose works of art can be seen all walls in London and it the surrounding areas, Paris, San Fransisco, New Orleans and Palestine to name a few. His graffiti depicts controversial pieces with political messages that are even recognized by young children. Although he has launched huge museum exhibitions, published books, and his works of art have sold well in the six figure, he still remains anonymous having people guessing if he is homeless or of an affluent money manager. It appears that no one will really know Banksy's true identity if he has it his way. Banksy is synonymous with his art, without knowing anything about his life.

Exit Through The Gift Shop, a film based on Banksy's life, which was featured at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, is now playing in major cities accross the US.

FREECITY Expression

One of my closest friends, Erika Jacobson, a Hollywood celebrity trainer and reality star of Bravo's Workout, introduced me to FREECITY.

Although a bit pricey for lounge wear with LA attitude, the comfort is worth every penny. The FREECITY collection is handmade in the US using the finest fabrics with a vintage appeal. Their clothing features hand mixed colors and hand screened graphics giving each piece a feeling that fashion is personal expression. FREECITY collection includes: sweatpants, sweatshirts, long/short sleeve tee-shirts, tank tops and bags. If fashion was just about comfort, FREECITY clothing, would be my entire wardrobe.
